Curtis 'Dirty Curty' Richards receives Fighter of the Night honours at Rumble in the Cage 53

Curtis "Dirty Curty" Richard owner and coach of Undisputed Fight Academy in Thunder Bay captured Fighter of the Night honours  after a hard fought win in this past weekend's Rumble In The Cage 53 event in Lethbridge Alberta hosted by Lee Mein, father of UFC fighter Jordan "Young Gun" Mein.Thunder Bay's Curtis Richard fighting out of UFC veteran Jesse Bongfeldts United Fighter 3 - 1 MMA fought Seth Kanigan 3 - 1 MMA out of complete MMA in Prince Albert Saskatchewan to a 3 round decision Curtis came out strong picking his opponent apart landing vicious strikes and kicks dominating the first round.

Richard's momentum slowed a bit in the second round after receiving a low blow and then a terrifying eye poke. 

Showing tremendous heart Richard pushed past that and out classed Kanigan in both striking and on the ground for a unanimous  decision win and Fighter of the Night Honours.

Curtis has trained along side UFC veterans and under Canadian legends including "The Coach" Shawn Tompkins and Leo Louks trains in his own gym in Thunder Bay, Jesse Bongfeldts United Fighter gym in Kenora Ont. and Mark Hominick, Chris Horodeski and Sam Stout's Adrenaline MMA in London Ontario.

Curtis recently received his purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is representing one of the best BJJ Professor's in Canada in Thunder Bay, Professor Rowan Cunningham and Cunningham jiu jitsu.

This fight rounds out Curty's successful return to combat sports returning to the the cage after a 2 a year setback due to medical issues.

Curty's last fight was a warm up kick boxing win in August in Kenora. He will be returning to Kenora November 26 for
Nak Muai Tai's K town Throwdown 3 kick boxing event.

Curty plans on keeping busy and is in talks for a title fight in January and has been invited to return to Lethbridge in April for Rumble in The Cage 54.

For anyone interested in watching Curty's fight he will be replaying the event on the big screen this Friday at 6pm and Saturday at 2pm in his gym Undisputed Fight Academy 936 Tungsten St, everyone is welcome to attend.
